Samuel gradated with First Class Honor from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts in 2012, Major in Lighting Design, he received the Jackie Chan Charitable Fund (Oversea Training) Scholarship for an Internship in Yamaguchi Centre for Arts and Media in 2011. In 2013, he worked as an assistant lighting designer with the Tony Awards winning Lighting Designer Nigel Levings for an Opera Australia Production of Verdi’s La Forza.
His lighting Design work include: The Beautiful Ones (Rooftop Production), Riverside Drive (Macau Experimental Theatre), Boy Story/Reborn(Unlock Dancing Plaza), Die Fledermaus(HKAPA), Way Up to the Sky (HKREP), Tringer 2.0 (Lighting & Projection Design, Four Degree Dance Laboratory); Wanderer (Unlock Dancing Plaza); Dogg’s Hamlet, Catho’s Macbeth (Chung Ying Theatre Company); Der goldene Drache (Macau Experimental Theatre), Tringer (Four Degree Dance Laboratory); The Legend of Red Plum(Cantonese Opera, The Young Academy Cantonese Opera Troupe); Mooring(Unlock Dancing Plaza); A Midsummer Night’s Dream(Opera, HKAPA); Dance/Matters(HKAPA) and Methistanai(Lighting & Projection Design, HKAPA).
His other engagements include: Jacklam’s 20th Anniversary, Jacklam’s 21st Anniversary, Jacklam’s 22nd Anniversary (Inspire Workshop), as Producer, Video & Projection Designer, and Video System Designer & Programming. He is now member of Inspire Workshop and Four Degree Dance Laboratory.
